Sequential Design Projects

This interface concept uses bright color, playful forms, and oversized typography to intentionally create the visual appeal associated with sweets and snack advertising. By pairing an enticing image with a cautionary message, the design creates tension between desire and restraint. The strong contrast, energetic composition, and clear visual hierarchy effectively support the message while demonstrating an understanding of contemporary digital interface design.

404 Webpage Animation

Create a list of topics and mistakes, goofs, missteps, and error about those topics. Select one to develop a text and image interplay that communicates an error in the context of a webpage. Then design the motion for when the webpage loads.

This typographic exploration transforms the word itself into an expressive visual composition. The enlarged letterforms extend beyond the boundaries of the page, emphasizing shape, rhythm, and gesture over immediate readability. Through cropping, overlap, and scale, the composition encourages viewers to engage with the formal qualities of the type while gradually discovering the underlying word. The restrained color palette and confident use of negative space reinforce the poster’s emphasis on abstraction and typographic form.

Solipsistic Word

Select a word that implies movement. Communicate the meaning the word using only the letters in the word and motion design principles. Explore motion, speed, duration, and ease.

One-page Protest Website

Research five facts from a significant protest event in American history. Design a webpage section for each fact and create a fixed global navigation that links to each section on a one-page website. Resist!

So many things were going on in the summer of 2020. This project was my way to process all that I was consuming and possibly inspire people to learn about some of the things that I was reading about. I researched quotes that touched on current events topics and used these to bring in a human element while exploring some design principles about time, motion, and space. Vote!

InstaPoster

Select an object to be the subject of an exhibition. Write some creative titles and design a poster. Now, let’s level up. The poster is actually a grid of smaller images in an interactive experience, sort of like you might find on Instagram. Design several branching sequences, that start from the individual segments, and reveal additional information about the exhibition.
