Storyboarding Projects

This typographic exploration transforms the word itself into an expressive visual composition. The enlarged letterforms extend beyond the boundaries of the page, emphasizing shape, rhythm, and gesture over immediate readability. Through cropping, overlap, and scale, the composition encourages viewers to engage with the formal qualities of the type while gradually discovering the underlying word. The restrained color palette and confident use of negative space reinforce the poster’s emphasis on abstraction and typographic form.

Solipsistic Word

Select a word that implies movement. Communicate the meaning the word using only the letters in the word and motion design principles. Explore motion, speed, duration, and ease.

Exhibition poster titled “Delivered with Style” featuring a mid-century mailbox on an orange geometric background with large layered typography and exhibition details for the Brennan Art Gallery.

InstaPoster

Select an object to be the subject of an exhibition. Write some creative titles and design a poster. Now, let’s level up. The poster is actually a grid of smaller images in an interactive experience, sort of like you might find on Instagram. Design several branching sequences, that start from the individual segments, and reveal additional information about the exhibition.

Mobile application splash screen for Mammoth Steakhouse featuring a bold black-and-turquoise logo with mountain imagery and an “Order Now” button centered on a white background.

Tablet Restaurant Menu

You’re hungry. Pull out your mobile device and order something. Translate the print version of your restaurant menu into a digital menu. Then prototype the experience of ordering yummy food and drink.

Interactive website screen titled “The Manhattan Skyline: Skyscraper Boom” featuring a historic photograph of New York City, explanatory text, a timeline, and a button labeled “Begin Journey.”

Interactive Timeline

Research a topic, develop three user flows, and design an interface of an interactive timeline that the user would interact with while achieving their goals. Let’s interact with our history.

Augmented reality golf interface showing a player with skeletal motion tracking, swing analysis overlays, and live performance statistics integrated into a broadcast-style display.

Augmented Reality Interface

Research a topic, set user goals, develop user flow diagrams, design the interface, and prototype the user experience of an augmented reality app. Whew! Sit back with AR goggles on and let your eyes enjoy the layered content.

Concert poster for “Fanciful Metal” featuring a tattooed white horse with a unicorn horn breathing fire against a textured metal background, with orange typography listing the date, venue, and band names.

Motion Music Poster

If it’s too loud, you’re too old. That statement has no relevance in this project. Design an environmental motion poster without sound that communicates a genre of music while delivering information about a music event. 🤘

Minimal interface icon study featuring a stylized spider web, spider illustration, and geometric network symbols rendered in gold against a black background.

UI Microinteractions

To paraphrase Bob Ross, over here lives a happy little icon. Design the magic of motion to bring the user interface symbol to life. Click it and smile.

Minimal illustration of an open desktop computer tower shown in cross section, revealing internal components and tools against a pink background with black, white, and red geometric linework.

How-to Motion Graphic

Do or do not. There is no try, but how? Design a how-to motion graphics animation that explains how to or not to do something. Use motion design principles to communicate the key information and to create transitions.

Mobile app dashboard displayed on a smartphone screen showing volunteer or service-hour progress with bar charts, line graphs, completed hours, and progress tracking information.

Mobile App

Fake it until you make it or prototype it until you develop it. Create a seamless user experience exemplified through a user flow in an interactive prototype for a digital product. Make it magical.

Minimal title graphic displaying the word “Curio” in turquoise script centered on a light woodgrain background.

Mobile App Trailer

Can an audience fall in love with a digital product? Make an engaging promotional trailer that explains the core function of the app. Base the trailer on previously conducted audience research.
